What moved us to create Café con suelo?
Con suelo means “connected to its origin”.
Every special coffee is born in a place with fertile soil, a favourable climate and hard-working people. If we can enjoy these exceptional coffees today, it is because there were coffee-growing families who invested and worked for years to bring out the best expression of their harvest. We owe every cup to them and to their drive to produce quality coffee.
We want the person drinking the coffee to connect with its origin and with the story behind it. That is only possible thanks to traceability all the way to the producer and the farm.
We want to democratise traceable, quality coffee.
We know specialty coffee can get highly technical, which often becomes a barrier to enjoying it. Through our products, we aim to innovate and communicate so you can enjoy high-quality coffee in the simplest way possible.
Is there a person called Consuelo?
Yes. Consuelo was my grandmother. She did not drink specialty coffee, but she did have a deep sense of social justice and an immeasurable love for Peru. Café con suelo was born on 23 March 2026 —the day of her birthday— as a tribute to her.
And who are we?
We are Franco and Carolina —Franlina—. A married couple looking to connect our work with a purpose that keeps us growing every day. I (Franco) am a coffee lover and a firm believer that my beautiful country has a lot to offer. Carolina is my partner, my number-one taster, and my perfect counterpart —she also claims to be my boss—. Together, we built this project with a deep care, conviction, and hard work.
